The Shootout

The world's largest Mitsubishi race! Three days of pure fun and performance

Buschur Racing “The Shootout” returns to Summit Motorsports Park!

The weekend starts off with an open house at the shop of Buschur Racing, (24 W. Main Street, Wakeman OH) from 9am to 4pm, rain or shine!  The local streets will be closed for the annual car show and Dyno pull!

(Mitsubishi powered vehicles only - AWD and NO TUNING.  Two pulls for $50. Vehicles must be leak free or will not be permitted to Dyno.)

To streamline the entry process, a tent will be set up at Buschur Racing during the day on Friday for sponsors, vendors, racers and spectators to pre-register. If you have your credentials ahead of time, then all you need to do is go to the appropriate gate, designated lanes and show your wrist bands!
FRIDAY EVENING:  Sponsors, vendors and racers will enter LINDER'S LOT, located on State Route 18, before entering the track.
Spectators will enter from Route 18 and park in WILSON'S LOT!

Racing starts Friday at 6pm at Summit Motorsports Park!
Any Mitsubishi powered vehicle can run at the shootout as long as it is either the original engine in the car (Genesis Coupe, 420A, 1.8 liter Mitsu, 4B11T, Stealth-3000GT, 3 liter Mitsu V6 etc. ) or is powered by any one of these Mitsu engines.  Cars NOT powered by a 4G63 or 4B11T MUST run in either Bracket or Time Trials.  Any GTR may run in the Shootout as long as it is AWD.

There are thirteen (13) drag race classes to choose from including a time trials only class for those individuals not interested in competing! For a list of Race Class, click here. Qualifying takes place Friday at 9 p.m. (under the lights), Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.  Eliminations will begin on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The following classes are required to run a full engine diaper or NHRA design approved catch pan and distilled water, both items will be tech'd.  PRO RWD, GTR QUICK, QUICK, STREET, STREET ELIMINATOR.

Autocross & Max Effort
A full size autocross course will be laid out on the west side (Summit Side) of the race track.  Racers will have two classes to choose from AD (Autocross DSM) or AE (Autocross EVO).  If you are into both drag racing and autocross, then Max Effort combines the best of both worlds.  Your best 1/4 Mile ET will be combined with your best autocross time for a total time.  Autocross & Max Effort will be contested on Saturday August 19th only.  There will also be a TIME ONLY - any vehicle can participate.

Only Shootout Class Legal Vehicles can participate in the competition classes.

Any DOT Radial tire with a distinct full tread patter will be permitted.  Tires with only longitudinal grooves will not be permitted.  An example of the tread design that is not permitted is the Hoosier Drag Radial, this or any tire with just longitudinal grooves is not permitted.

Autocross & Max Effort participants may compete in one of the drag racing classes, but must purchase a drag race entry.
