Find that jolly dragon on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Thermo-Tec Kids’ Fun Night!
NORWALK, Ohio – Delbert the Dragon invites all of our favorite kids to Thermo-Tec Kids’ Fun Night beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
Of course this means YOU!
Delbert is 11 years old, and he is so excited! He can't wait to share his birthday party with you.
We've seen Delbert hurrying around Summit Motorsports Park, getting things ready.
Oh, what fun: birthday cake and ice cream, hot dogs, crafts, friends, contests.
You could give someone an icy splash in the dunk tank.
Or try your hand at ring toss, the duck pond and football toss.
Our friends from the Norwalk Fire Department, the Huron County Sheriff’s Office, and Teddy Trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol plan to visit.
Remember the windy landing and takeoff last year of the Life Flight helicopter? The pilot and medical crew even let kids see inside! They’re coming back, too.
Delbert wants everyone to try the Penny Pitch Mountain Bike Giveaway. Last year Mackenzie Kerns won a new bike!
Bobbie says be ready for race car rides before first round of the Mr. Gasket $53,100 Super Series. Kids ride in real race cars and every kid gets a trophy!
As usual the activities begin at
9 a.m. with time trials for Bear Motorsports Junior Dragsters presented by Wiseco and include eliminations from 10 a.m. until noon.
Those kids really scoot in their Junior Dragsters, reaching 60 mph or more in an eighth mile.
On this day the competition jacks up to a higher level, because of the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Challenge which awards a mini Wally trophy to each class winner in Bear Motorsports Junior Dragsters presented by Wiseco.
Also, six tough racers in Bear Motorsports Junior Dragsters presented by Wiseco – the winners and runners up – win Summit Racing jackets!
Delbert doesn't have a Summit Racing jacket, but Delbert is a good sport. He'll be happy for the winners.
At noon the adult portion of the Mr. Gasket $53,100 Super Series swings to a roar with time trials throughout the afternoon. Which one is your favorite race car?
Kids’ activities launch from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. off of a carnival-style midway on the Summit side of the race track with games and fun activities for all ages.
Admission cost is $15 for adults; $5 for children ages 6 to 12; and free for children ages five and younger. This includes activities for the whole day.
