After a decisive victory at the 12th Annual Quick Fuel Technology NMCA Muscle Car Nationals in Bowling Green, Jeff Lutz and his smokin’ ’68 Camaro have the points lead in the Kooks Custom Headers Pro Street class. This doesn’t necessarily mean smooth sailing, as legendary drag racer, Billy Glidden, is hot on his heels.
The 2013 NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Nationals is fueled by good-natured, on-track rivalries and Aeromotive Xtreme Street drivers, John Warran and Bob Curran are delivering on those grounds. Curran, who has had an amazing season so far in his LS-powered C4 ‘Vette, has managed to inch out Warren in three separate matchups. But Warren is not about to take second place lying down. The yellow and black Nova of Warren is sure to be on the hunt for Corvettes in Norwalk.
Mark Micke has been laying down the law in Mickey Thompson Super Street in friend, Jason Carter’s, twin-turbo, 550 ci, Nelson Competition-powered ’78 Malibu.
The 7th Annual JE Pistons NMCA Muscle Car Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio represents a chance for redemption in the Super Street class. Can anyone dethrone the front-runner?
This event also features several events within itself. We’re talking about the DiabloSport Late-Model HEMI Shootout and the Ford Racing Cobra Jet Showdown presented by Diversified Products.
The DiabloSport Late-Model HEMI Shootout is the largest modern HEMI event of the year. This “event within an event” runs in conjunction with the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals and attracts the fastest supercharged, turbocharged, nitrous-powered and naturally-aspirated modern HEMIs in the U.S.
The Cobra Jet program is huge, as the nation’s best Cobra Jet racers take to the track for a chance to prove their mettle against each other a week before they head to Indianapolis for NHRA’s biggest race of the year.
Racing gets started Friday afternoon and evening. For more information, follow this link.
