Event Introduces Summit Motorsports Park as a Stop on Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour

During an event at Ohio Technical College’s Edelbrock Performance Academy in Cleveland on March 6, Bill Bader, Jr. spoke to hundreds of attentive students about Summit Motorsports Park’s participation in and enthusiasm about this summer’s Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour.

The magazine, which has a reach of more than 6.4 million readers monthly, considers the tour its signature event. It features more than 4,500 muscle cars driving more than 1,500 miles and stopping at seven tracks in seven states in seven days, beginning in Concord, North Carolina on June 7.

It then motors on to Knoxville, Tennessee on June 8 and Charleston, West Virginia on June 9 before rolling into Summit Motorsports Park on June 10, followed by Crown Point, Indiana on June 11; Bettendorf, Iowa on June 12 and Wisconsin Dells on June 13.

Bader, Jr. was joined in delivering comments by Carla Majors, the Director of Career Services at the college; Tom King, the Director of Enrollment Management at the college, who discussed its automotive training; Andy Fiddick, President of RAD Air Complete Car Care, who covered aspects of being a career partner with the college and Jeff Dahlin, publisher of Hot Rod, who spoke of the tour’s beginnings twenty years ago as an editor road-trip with just twelve cars and how it has evolved into an event that draws 75,000 spectators.

“We’ve been intending to come to the track for a while, and there’s no doubt that it’s a facility that can handle this event,” said Dahlin.

Spectators are welcome when the tour stops at Summit Motorsports Park, and more news will be posted on the track's Website as the event draws near, as well as at www.hotrod.com.

“We’re incredibly excited to be there,” said Dahlin. “It’s a great community with a great culture of performance cars and it’s an ideal place for us to stop at during the tour.”
