Classic Grand Champion
October 31, 2007
We have a winner! In fact, we have a winner several times over. Kevin Adams was crowned the Halloween Classic Grand Champion last Sunday, but that’s only one of several titles that Kevin has taken home over the course of the 2007 season here at Summit Motorsports Park. As it turns out, Kevin is one of the most prolific winners we have had this season, and the Classic was just the icing on the cake. For Kevin Adams, 2007 was a banner year with a list of accomplishments that is truly enviable.
Kevin landed in the winner’s circle a total of five times over the course of the 2007 points race Saturday’s. Considering the number of races that were rained out in the middle of the summer, that’s a huge win-loss ratio. We can only guess what would have been if we’d been able to finish the entire year. At years end, Kevin had amassed enough points to clinch the championship, hands down! Kevin was on of only two racers that had a class championship wrapped up going into the final race of the season. In addition winning the season championship and the Halloween Classic Grand Championship, Kevin and his brother Craig took a voluntary split on Mac Tools Macsimizer race, and the Super Bike Blowout. Both of those title races were run during the Halloween Classic, and the split between brothers only seemed natural as they race as a team here at SMP.
There are several people here at Summit Motorsports Park that we are very proud to call regulars, and Kevin Adams is certainly one of those at the top of the list. We want to thank Kevin for choosing SMP to call home, and look forward to many more seasons of Kevin’s presence.
