Meet The New Queen

Hanna Motorsports has a new Queen of Diamonds! Jill Canuso, the new driver of one of the quickest and fastest jet dragsters in the world will make her debut here at Summit Motorsports Park to race against three other jet dragsters in the 2nd Annual B’laster PB50 Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser. Jill has a widely varied racing history that includes AMA Flat Track motorcycle racing, NHRA bracket racing, SCCA road racing, sprint cars, and monster truck racing! Despite the different forms of racing she’s been involved with previously, the Queen of Diamonds jet dragster has, in a very short time, become her favorite ride. “Driving the “Queen Diamonds” is a dream come true for me,” said Jill. “I have driven all kinds of race cars, but the acceleration and power of this machine is incredible, and all I can say is I love this car and this team.” We think our guests are going to love Jill and the performance she puts on when she climbs into the seat of the Queen of Diamonds.
Jill went through the licensing process at Maryland International Raceway to qualify to run the dragster on sanctioned tracks. Al Hanna had this to say about Jill; “Hanna Motorsports has trained a multitude of drivers throughout the years. Jill Canuso has shown the most resilient response to driving this car.” Said Hanna. “I believe her experience in other race cars gave her a base to receive our information and move quickly through this process.” Her third day at MIR, she ran an 800 foot pass and recorded 5.88. “Wow, really nice.” The next day at MIR, she ran the following numbers – 5.77 – 5.33 – 5.14 – 5.23 – and we didn’t let her run to the finish line. “Impressive.” We can’t wait to see Jill in action this weekend. The four jet dragsters that will be competing this weekend are just one of the features that will keep fans heads spinning. The 2nd Annual B’laster PB50 Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser is also featuring the wheelstanding Cool Bus going up against the Firetruck in a bumper dragging shower of sparks, the quickest and fastest of the NHRA Top Alcohol Dragsters and Top Alcohol Funny Cars, and the best Sportsman racers in Division 3! Be sure to make plans to come out to Summit Motorsports Park this weekend, May 16-18 for the best drag racing to be found.
