NORWALK, Ohio – Blake Alexander pulled on a fire suit and racing boots to step into a dream.
But rather than expecting the business end of a racing team to drop into his life in the same way as the inspiration, Blake Alexander, 24, a former Junior Dragster driver from Smith Mountain Lake, Va., posted his intentions then penciled a plan.
One of the best places for a new racer to start, is to find someone who’s there and ask them how they did it.
And the beauty of looking into Blake Alexander’s racing team is that he’s still in the process of forming it, and he’s willing to explain the process to others.
Blake started with the resources available to him and graduated from college in December with a business degree.
Then, Blake Alexander looked for others who might catch his vision and provide experience, advice and resources he lacked.
Most recently Auto Plus, the official parts store of Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, on the Web at www.autoplus.biz, agreed to help sponsor Blake Alexander’s Top Fuel Funny Car race team.
Blake Alexander Racing’s 12-race 2013 season includes 10 National Hot Rod Association races and the Auto Plus Night Under Fire presented by Kelly Services on August 10, 2013 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. For the NHRA story, click on, “I want to see Blake race.”

Then find an audio interview by John Kernan with Blake Alexander on RPM2Night.com, by clicking the link on the Blake Alexander Racing Facebook.com page, or click on let’s listen in.
One of the great quotes from Blake Alexander during the John Kernan interview was this: “If you don’t have a Funny Car tuned up just right, it’s a violent animal.”
