The first day of the Wanda Akzo/Nobel Blue Suede Cruise started on the right foot with beautiful weather, lots of fun runs and qualifying. Early predictions indicate this was the largest Friday attendance in the 13-year history of the event.
Gates opened at 7am this morning. Women’s World opens at 10am, as well as the “Hear it from the expert” seminars from the Wanda Care Clinic. At 2pm we added a new element to the program by hosting a Vintage Fashion Show. This will take place in the 'Cruiser Social Hall', located on the north end of Women’s World.
Kids we have a coloring contest for you, sponsored by Wanda from 11am to 3pm.
If you love 50’s & 60’s music, then you will not want to miss the Van-Dells concert starting at 8pm tonight, in front of the Summit Side grand-stands, followed by the neon parade of lights, flame trowers and fireworks!
Street Rodders will get to make fun runs and the nostalgia drag racers will be qualifying again today at 1pm & 4:30pm.
Bring your families and head out to the Wanda Akzo/Nobel Blue Suede Cruise there is more than just racing at this event!
Weather Update: The rain will clear out by late morning giving way to partly sunny skies and a beautiful afternoon. Temperatures will be in the high 70's. A near perfect July day!
