Race Day Schedule

Gates Open  9:00 AM
Time Trials  9:30 AM

Finals  by 1:00 PM if not before! 

Once eliminations start, racers will be in round robin mode.  Once all the cars are back for the next round of eliminations, time trials will be interupted and Junior eliminations will resume.

Jr Dragster presented by Bear Motorsports Classes:

Novice:
8 to 9 year-olds. Dial-in restricted to12.90 e.t. or slower
New in 2009:  No pullbacks!

Intermediate: 10 to 12 year olds. Dial-in restricted to 8.90 e.t. or slower.  New in 2009:  No pullbacks!

Advanced: 13 to 18 year olds whose cars meet Advanced class criteria restricted to 7.90 or slower e.t. and 85 mph or slower. Drivers 13 to 18 years old whose car does NOT meet Advanced class criteria restricted to 8.90 or slower e.t.  New in 2009:  No pullbacks!


The Awards: Nikolette Int class champ 2008

All class winners; runner-ups and semi-finalists each receive a trophy! The first time you win your class, you’ll receive an Amalie motor oil winner’s jacket. Finish Line Club members can win an APD Run Tuff Hat if you run on your dial-on. (One hat per person, per night!)

The Points Program:

All junior dragster drivers are welcome to join Summit Motorsports Park’s Finish Line Club for $60 to earn points throughout the season. Drivers earn one point for each round win, and feature wins are also tallied. The top five in points, in each class, are honored at the Annual Awards Banquet to be held in January.



The Champions:Kenny Case Adv Champ 2008

In 2008, the Elyria Pattern "Big Bond Shootout" presented by Summit Motorsports Park was introduced.   $10,000.00 U.S. Saving Bonds are at stake, this is the most dynamic prize package ever offered to our junior racers.  The Big Bond Shootout will have racers accumulating points throughout the season to culmination on September 26, 2009. On the evening of September 26, the top eight Points Finishers in all three classes, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced, will race down to one overall class winner. Each of those three winners will represent their respective class in a run-off to the overall championship. All three classes will be run using a Sportsman Ladder. The class winner with the best reaction time during the class run-off will earn the bye run at the finals of the Big Bond Shootout. The Grand Champion of the Elyria Pattern Big Bond Shootout presented by Summit Motorsports Park will receive a $5,000.00 U.S. savings bond. The Runner-up will recieve a $2000.00 U.S. savings bond.  The third place finisher will receive a $1,500 U.S. savings bond.  The Class Runner-ups will each receive a $500 U.S. savings bond.

Amalie Winner Jacket Program:  Win an Amalie Jacket when you win your class for the first time at any Saturday Points Race! 

APD Run Tuff Program:  Must be in the Finish Line Club to collect.  Win an APD Run Tuff Hat when you run on your dial-in for the first time during eliminations at any Saturday Points Race!  One hat per person, per night!

Each time you cut a .510 light or better, or run dead-on your dial-in, bring your ET slip to Guest Services to have your name recorded for acheiving this fete.  The driver in each class who has the most entries will win a $250 U.S. Savings Bond & TDK Graphics banner!


NHRA O'Reilly Auto Parts JDRL Eastern Conference Finals

The top racers in each Jr Dragster class will compete at the famed Bristol Dragway, in Bristol TN July 9-11, 2009.  Racers must be in the Finish Line Club and must be a member of NHRA.  Two Teams (Red & Blue) of 10 will be taken.  The top two (2) in American Race Cars Novice, top nine (9) in American Race Cars Interemdiate and top nine (9) in American Race Cars Advanced will be eligible.  Of the top 20 racers, a random drawing will be conducted to place each racer on one of the two teams.  Team Members will receive a uniform and a FREE entry into the Conference Finals. 

Junior Dragster Challenge:  September 12, 2009.  This will be contested during the points race on September 12th.  A special NHRA Crystal Trophy will be awarded to the class winner.  Class winner must be a member of the Finish Line Club in order to be eligible for the trophy.
