Throughout the race season, Summit Motorsports Park welcomes and works with writers, photographers and editors from local, national and international media outlets covering events at the park.
As a result, everythinig from our fast cars and fans to our fireworks is featured in newspapers and magazines and on Websites across the country and outside of the country.
For that, we — and many of the 500,000 visitors we welcome to the park each year — are grateful.
In 2018, Summit Motorsports Park received a substantial amount of coverage from media members working from our media center during events, or media members working from their offices.
Among them was Dr. Nancy Berk, who was on assignment to write and take photos for Parade.
She shined at the 41st Annual Kelly Services Night Under Fire last summer at Summit Motorsports Park, where she walked the packed pit area and stopped to interview famous Funny Car drivers John Force and Robert Hight, jet engine-powered dragster driver Sarah Edwards, jet engine-powered truck driver Chris Darnell and Australian Pro Mod driver Steve Easton, among others.
A few days later, her story was published with the headline “Is Drag Racing the New Disney? Fans and Families Pack Track for Fast-Paced Entertainment.”
In the piece which was read by thousands and thousands of people, she wrote about how the event welcomed a capacity crowd, and she quoted John Force as saying “It’s the greatest show on Earth and I love coming here,” Robert Hight as saying “I think it’s the best night in drag racing of the whole year” and Steve Easton as saying “It’s amazing to be part of it.”
We couldn’t agree more with those comments, and we were happy to recognize Nancy for her compelling coverage during the 45th Annual Edelbrock Banquet of Champions presented by Lincoln Electric on Jan. 19 at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Sandusky, Ohio.
