Pontiac Nationals Powers into Summit Motorsports Park

Catalinas, GTOs, Trans Ams, Tempests, Firebirds and other fine Pontiacs will fly down track for the 26th running of the Ames Performance Tri-Power Pontiac Nationals, Aug. 4-6, 2017 at Summit Motorsports Park.

The event considered the largest of its kind in the country will boast bracket and heads-up racing, as well as an all-Pontiac car show, a swap-meet, manufacturers’ midway and opportunities to buy and sell Pontiacs.

Nostalgia Super Stockers will be sailing, as will popular Pontiac racer Arnie “The Farmer” Beswick, who has piloted plenty of Super Stockers and Funny Cars through the years and will make exhibition passes in his '64 GTO nicknamed the Tameless Tiger on Saturday and Sunday.

The Ames Performance Buffet will be offered for race, show and swap-meet participants on Saturday, with a variety of other food available for purchase throughout the weekend, including a pound of Velvet ice cream for $1.

Gates open at 9 a.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Adult admission costs $15 daily, $25 for Saturday and Sunday or $35 for the weekend. It's free for children 12 and younger.
