Racers Show They’re Ready at First Edelbrock Super Series Race of Year
The well-attended race was held April 23 at Summit Motorsports Park.

Hundreds of competitors came together for the first Edelbrock Super Series race of the year, April 23, 2022 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

In the Edelbrock Super Pro final round of eliminations, Carl Keil and Fred Kraora were both .00 at the hit, and Keil cruised to the win with 4.79 against Krakora’s 4.68.

Edelbrock Pro put the spotlight on Nathan Schultze and A.J. Buchanan, and Schultze secured the win with a 6.51 after Buchanan turned on the red light.

Wiseco/Cycle Tech Super Bike saw Craig Adams ride to the win with a 7.82 after Jeremy Hicks left the line just a little too soon and turned on the red light.

Nick Hastings and Ava Lawson earned a trip to the final round of eliminations in Edelbrock Sportsman Delivered on Time by Transportation, and Hastings won with a better reaction time and a 12.13 against Lawson’s 12.14.

In Edelbrock Stock, Kevin Sorgen picked up the win with a better reaction time and a 19.08 against Scott Sheppeard, who turned in a 9.49.

The NHRA Junior Street final round of eliminations saw Hayden Gates defeat Caiden Callicare with a 10.19 to Callicare’s 10.62.

In Bear Motorsports Advanced Junior Dragster presented by Wiseco, Jesse Mitschke and Logan Buckley both recorded red lights, and Mitschke, who was -.003 on the tree and 7.96 at the finish line, won while Buckley was -.015 on the tree and 7.94 at the finish line.

Vince Tiburzi and Trey Dean went all the way in Bear Motorsports Intermediate Junior Dragster presented by Wiseco, and Tiburzi took the win with an 8.93 to Dean’s 9.27.

Jacob Vile and Ellieanna Oldenburg made it to the Bear Motorsports Novice Junior Dragster presented by Wiseco final round of eliminations, and Vile won with an 13.93 against Oldenburg’s 11.96.

The focus now turns to the next Edelbrock Super Series race, which is set for April 30.
