Chris Darnell is ready to rocket down the quarter-mile in his triple jet engine-powered Shockwave truck at the Kelly Night Under Fire, this Saturday, Aug. 7, at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

Shockwave will look decidedly different than it did last time it traversed our track as it now features a military appreciation theme.

“We wanted to say thanks to the military, and we call the new theme the ‘Top Gun’ edition of Shockwave,” Darnell told us today.

Darnell, who also performs at air shows, added that Shockwave is wearing military logos for the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard.

“We’re really looking forward to being at Summit Motorsports Park, and being part of the show with Shockwave this weekend,” said Darnell, who will join fellow jet engine-powered truck driver Bob Motz.
