Ask NHRA Top Fuel dragster driver Bob Vandergriff Jr.
NORWALK, Ohio -- Never underestimate the power of a local bracket race.
Even if you don't break 100 mph.
According to a Bob Vandergriff Racing Website at www.bobvandergriff.com, Bob Vandergriff Jr. first raced a 15-second, 80 mph company car in a bracket race.
From that solitary experience, Bob Vandergriff Jr. eventually launched a Top Fuel dragster, even winning NHRA Rookie of the Year in 1994.
More recently, Bob Vandergriff Racing boosted the brawn with a three-year agreement with Parts Plus for the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
And according to the NHRA Website at www.nhra.com, Clay Millican adds his Top Fuel finesse in 2013 to the BVR Team, as well.
Described as a “fan favorite,” Clay Millican logged 51 Top Fuel wins in the IHRA, the most of any IHRA dragster driver.
Check out the full stories at the Bob Vandergriff Racing and NHRA Websites.
The Mello Yello Drag Racing Series hits the dragstrip July 4-7, 2013 at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
