Workplaces and workforces around the world have changed considerably in the past couple of years.
There have been staggering supply shortages and staff shortages, and businesses have been adversely affected.
Some have even had to shutter, but thankfully, Summit Motorsports Park has not been one of them. That is in large part because of people who have been steadfast in helping us succeed.
Among them are Dan Ellenberger of University Hospitals and Jason Hess of Physicians Ambulance.
In 2021, when it looked as though Summit Motorsports Park would not be able to proceed with select events because there were not enough first responders available in case of on-track and off-track emergencies, Dan and Jason stepped right up.
They tapped their talented teams to ensure that all of our events were fully-staffed with professional and proficient first responders, whether the event required Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support or Life Flight.
Whether it was cold or hot outside, and whether it was 2 p.m. or 2 a.m., they were competent, compassionate and ready, willing and able to administer whatever kind of help was needed to racers, race fans and anyone else in attendance. They were also quick to act, and their service in 2021 was second to none.
It was with great gratitude that Summit Motorsports Park presented an Appreciation Award to Dan Ellenberger of University Hospitals and Jason Hess of Physicians Ambulance and their teams at the 48th Annual Edelbrock Performance Banquet of Champions presented by Lincoln Electric, January 29, 2022 at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Sandusky, Ohio. - Mary Lendzion
