Junior Dragsters warm up for Funny Car Fox Hunt.Junior Dragster.

NORWALK, OhioJunior Dragster drivers busted out of the winter routine and fired up a cackling good time at the Spring Warmup on April 20, 2013 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

After all, Junior Dragsters costar at the Funny Car Fox Hunt, a retro event on April 27, 2013 that kicks off a celebration of fifty years of fun at Summit Motorsports Park.

The Spring Warmup witnessed changes over the winter in the Junior Dragster ranks.

Last year Ava Lawson, 8, practiced in her Lil’ Queen of Hearts Junior Dragster. But in 2013 Ava’s competing for points, said her mom, Shannon Lawson, Sandusky, Ohio.

Kyle Waite, 16, and his brother, Kevin Waite, 12, Garden City, Mich., take to the track under the name of Rattle Snake Racing.

“Rattle Snake was their dad’s (Dave’s) nickname in school,” said Beth Waite, their mom.

Rollie Anderson, Norwalk, Ohio, parked a Mallory Super Pro drJunior Dragster Kevin Waite.agster and a purple Mr. Gasket Pro S-10, to wrench on a Junior Dragster for his daughter, Sadie.

“This is a multi track champion car,” Rollie Anderson said. “This used to be Emily Reed’s car. I hope she keeps the torch lit.”

Sonsee Trubach, Lil Queen of Hearts.15, Wakeman, Ohio, said the Golden Anniversary may be her last year to mash gas in a Junior Dragster. With a driver’s license in the spring, Sonsee hopes to sizzle the track in a full-sized dragster in 2014.

At the Funny Car Fox Hunt on April 27, 2013, girls get in free. Girl racers, however, must pay the same racing fees as the boys.
