In 2024, we experienced 3 major incidents involving motorized vehicles at Summit Motorsports Park. Two of these incidents involved personal injury and one pedestrian was injured seriously. In a sincere effort to keep our guests safe we have attempted the follo, ving: (1) Posted speed limits (2) Restricted operation to licensed drivers only (3) Set up 'speed traps' and issued tickets ( 4) Restricted the hours of operation (5) Made countless PA Announcements asking people to slow down (6) Pulled keys from vehicles being mishandled (7) Confiscated vehicles (8) Issued lifetime suspensions.
The number of motorized vehicles brought into our park has increased significantly over the past 5 years. In the wrong hands, these vehicles are a hazard to everyone!
As a direct result of the above incidents and the increasing trend to mishandle these auxiliary vehicles, we are initiating the measures below. Our goal is simple: avoid further injury and property damage and help ensure the safety of all our guests. Please understand, we could have eliminated all auxiliary motorized vehicles in their entirety. We did not. However, do recognize this is a trial program. If these auxiliary vehicles continue to be an issue, we absolutely WILL eliminate them - completely!
Except for golf carts and handicap scooters, guests may not bring any auxiliary motorized vehicle onto our 320 acre premises. This includes but is not limited to: (1) side-by-sides (2) quads (3) 3-,vheelers (4) 4-wheelers (5) mini-bikes (6) dirt bikes (7) hover boards (8) electric bicycles (9) or other personal motorized vehicles. As in the past, anyone wishing to rent a golf cart may do so by contacting Dornan Sales & Service at ( 419) 912-4028.
As a reminder: for the NHRA National event, the NHRA only permits handicapped guests to bring any form of wheeled conveyance into the park. Must present handicap registration and photo J.D. at gate.
